I’m back from a trip to Japan, and one of the things I can’t seem to get out of my mind is a coat rack. Just after entering the offices of Samurai, Kashiwa Sato’s design firm, a member of the staff appeared holding two over-sized bunches of pick-up-sticks. Held together in the middle, they popped open into two of the most beautifully designed coat racks.
What an efficient use of space–they can easily be tucked away in a closet when no longer needed–and the space used for something else. (Betty)
